How To Cover A Cake With Marzipan

  • 500g Marzipan will cover a 20cm fruitcake.
  • Sprinkle some icing sugar onto your surface.
  • Knead marzipan until soft and pliable.
  • Roll out onto your surface.
  • Keep moving the marzipan so it avoids sticking.
  • Brush cake with a warm jam of your choice.
  • Place marzipan on the cake and smooth out any bumps with your hands.
  • Slowly work your way down the sides with your hands.
  • Trim away any excess.
